About
ComponentSoft has been in business for 10 years. We helps manufacturers, and retailers use RFID to increase sales and improve their overall business performance. We provide a suite of industry leading software and services that combine RFID real-time visibility function with traditional data such as promotions, orders and point-of-sale data. RFID will deliver real, actionable business benefits beyond accurate real-time visibility. Our products help companies with their RFID infrastructure build-out, then beyond.
Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturers have looked to us to solve their collaboration needs since the inception of RFID in 1999 at the MIT AutoID Labs.
From the beginning our goal has been to help companies get value from RFID using industry standard, scalable, and non proprietary systems. For example, data in the retail supply chain does not propagate data fast enough. This is the main reason for the multibillion dollar problem of OOS(out of stock). The missing element is the real-time input that comes from Auto-ID based sensors which is what our software is based on.
We are committed to bring measurable business value to organizations large and small, and across industry and geographic boundaries. We're able to help them combine RFID reads with other key enterprise data to improve their business performance. Some of the benefits of our solutions include better inventory accuracy, reduce zero sales days, better execution of promotions, reduce out of stock, and enable improved replenishment. While there is value in real-time visibility, we produce greater value in the use of EPC data.
We are a business focused on supplying the foundational software by which a company can build out their RFID infrastructure to realize benefit in visibility, and then greater benefits in the use of the RFID data produced.

Directors and Advisors
Robert J. Zanghi
President and CEO
Prior to founding ComponentSoft in 2001, Robert started Client Server Technologies, a company that provided networking, and infrastructure technology. Robert was the primary architect and strategist for most of what ComponentSoft is delivering today.
Robert and Dr Engel’s have worked together for years sharing ideas and concepts that will be manifested in the future release of ComponentSofts products. These products will allow a company to truly take advantage, and realize the benefits that RFID/EPC can bring. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a minor in Biology from the University of Rhode Island.

Dr. Daniel W. Engels
Chief Technology Officer
Daniel was the director of the AutoID labs at MIT from its inception. In this position Daniel gained much insight into the issues facing groups such as the Department of Defense and others which he brings to ComponentSoft today. Daniel now divides his time as Director of the newly formed Texas RFID Center and Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, and as ComponentSoft's Chief Technology Officer. Daniel was one of the original architects of the EPC network protocol and the team led for the first pilot projects at the Auto-ID . The projects Daniel worked on involved some of the founders of the lab, Wal-Mart, P&G, Gillette, and others. He learned firsthand of the obstacles they faced and how to overcome them. This knowledge is brought forward today to help companies with similar challenges while deploying RFID. He brings a wealth of firsthand experience and knowledge in the field of RFID that is years ahead of the industry. He received his PhD from MIT, Masters Degree from Berkeley and Bachelors from State University of New York; all in electrical engineering with a focus on distributed systems architecture. He has more than a dozen patents currently pending.

Alfred Mutiso
Software Engineering Manager
Alfred is our Software Engineering Manager and leads ComponentSofts’ team of software engineers in the ongoing development and enhancements of our suite of RFID software solutions. Alfred has worked in research for the Sloan School of Management at MIT on knowledge management systems and data mining. He brings this strong knowledge and insight to ComponentSoft where it can be utilized greatly in the segment of RFID developed systems because the end game in RFID is all about the data. Alfred received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Economics from MIT.
